I know--it's weird. Okay--I'm weird. I love grocery stores in other countries. And what I find myself most interested in is the potato chips. Specifically, the Lay's Potato Chips and all the different flavors that are available in other countries, but are not available here. Here is a sampling of the offerings available in Shanghai:



Italian Red Meat Sauce
















Cucumber


















Blueberry. Sweet and salty. I didn't care for them.

















Texas Grilled BBQ

















Lime

















Mexican Tomato Chicken (not too bad...)















My favorite is good ol' Salt and Vinegar--what's YOUR favorite flavor?

    I'm always scanning the chip aisles here looking for new chip flavors. You've shown me some I wouldn't even think of. lol. I can't pick just ONE favorite but I do love the black pepper and salt.

    My favorite are the ones in Germany, the Red Paprika chips. Mmmmmm. Need to find a Munich or Frankfurt to get my fix!

    Kirsten-I love the black pepper and salt, too...and Kerry, when I go to MUC or FRA, I am looking for the Red Paprika chips, too. Twice I have paid for them from the mini-bar at the hotel!

    Spending time in grocery stores while traveling isn't weird at all, I do it all the time.

    You aren't weird at all. I also like looking for potato chips in vending machines. You can find some great variation within the United States. Call me old fashioned, but I'm happy with sea salt and vinegar, but stay away from ketchup flavored chips.

    Here in Indonesia you can buy Lay's Salmon Teriyaki chips, although I haven't tried them.
