Pictures from Kona....finally!

Here are pictures from Hawaii last month--it was beautiful!
The area we stayed in, Waikoloa, was mostly condos and lava. Here's the lava...

And here is Hawaiian "graffiti." It is white rocks placed against the black rocks.
They actually have to tote the rocks and place them.




Here is a beach with white rocks....seems like an awful lot of work for graffiti to me!

a tsunami here killed 5 teachers and 16 children at this Point.

On the drive back from Hilo, we could see a rain shower over the water, and a rainbow in it.

I have never seen a sign warning of "Falling Coconuts and Fronds!"

We went on a terrific snorkeling trip on the Fair Wind. What a terrific job the crew did! We had a light breakfast served, snorkeled, saw tons of fish and three dolphins came by, and then the grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch. Nice, nice job these folks did!
